Level II Support
Engineer (Multi OS)
Candidate profile
- Unix/Linux skills
including shell scripting skills. Perl scripting is a
plus.
- Strong foundation in
DNS, TCP/IP Protocol Suite, POP, SMTP, IMAP etc.
- Installation &
configuration of Linux servers and Window Servers
- Kernel recompiling,
patching using up2date, etc.
- Setting up Apache
webserver and related modules like PHP, Tomcat, SSL,
Frontpage etc and Knowledge about IIS, MSSQL. Setting up
DNS, DHCP servers and should be familiar with tools like
Terminal service, rDesktop, VNC, PCAnywhere for remote
maintenance of a server.
- Installing and
maintaining qmail mail servers with additional components
for spam checking, anti virus etc.
- Ability to handle linux
routers.
- Knowledge about security
and tools like nmap, nessus, tripwire etc.
- Ability to handle
servers remotely.
- Ability to work in a
team or individually.
- Knowledge about IP
Tables, Advance networking concepts like bandwidth
queuing, bandwidth accounting is a plus.
- Knowledge about mail
server's like MailEnable and Imail is a plus
- Good Drafting skill
- Ability to prioritize
the work
- Must be flexible on
shift scheduling.
- monitor network
performance
- Any certification is a
plus.
- Should be having a
minimum of 3+ years of experience.
Job Description
- Have good knowledge of
network of Data Center for assistance in
diagnosing network related issues
- Monitor and manage
trouble tickets and Assure that all tickets are handled
within the appropriate timeframe
- Be available for any
incoming calls
- Emergency on-call duties
are required outside office hours
- Implement new internal
systems
- Coordination with
vendors on issues with software, hardware
- Excellent customer
service skills
- Maintain and update
Knowledgebase of Technical issues
- Establish and follow
through with individual, team, and company wide goals
